OMFG! This is supposedly CONFIRMED WORKING on 6.38 PSP 1000, 2000, 3000 and PSP Go. THIS DOES NOT WORK, HOWEVER, ON 07-09g PSP MODELS, BUT THE DOWNGRADER WILL LET YOU KNOW THAT IT WON'T WORK ON YOUR PSP, AND YOU WILL NOT HARM IT.

This is basically just like the 6.31/6.35 Downgrader that Davee made a while back, just for 6.38!!!

This will allow all you 6.38 Users to downgrade to 6.20 and install 6.20 PRO B5. Have fun.

Steps:

First, download the file below:

Next, download the 6.20 update below:
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

Connect you PSP to your computer
Open the .zip file you downloaded with the downgrader in it, and drag the PSP folder onto your PSP
Click YES to merge the folders
On your PSP, open the PSP folder, and the the GAME folder.
Right click, select new, and then folder and name the new folder UPDATE
Open the 6.20 Update file you downloaded.
Drag the EBOOT.PBP file inside of the 6.20 Update file you downloaded, into the UPDATE folder you made on your PSP

Disconnect your PSP from your computer, go to the game section of the XMB, select the 6.38 Downgrader, and follow the on screen steps to start the 6.20 Update.

Once it installs 6.20, you may see a blue screen with all sorts of foreign languages on it, hit CIRCLE to restart your PSP, then you will be in 6.20. Then you can follow any of my tutorials for installing PRO B5.

Excellent news! Not for me but for some friends that have 6.38, nice post.

Video is rendering now, confirmed WORKING. Will not work on 07-09g but at least people with 03g 04g and 05g can go down to 6.20 now

Technically it was found first at Wololo.net, he is always the number one gunner when it comes to Epic releases of EPICNESS, and it doesn't hurt that he is running the genesis competition, for which this is an entry. The only way this loses the Gen Compo is if TN releases his 6.38 HEN. This is truly EPIC. Especially now that 07-09g PSPs are also included. Check the description of my Video Tut.

Do you mind Sworn if I updated this thread because there is a downgrader for 6.39/6.38 ported and developed by some1. Remember you downgrader users, use caution if necessary. This is version 3.1

Don't mind at all, when you get a second, can you add the 6.35 FW Update to the original post as well? thanks in advance, 6.35 OFW is for 07g and 09g PSPs only, anything below 07g should use 6.20

Sure not a problem. Also, there is a another way to get 6.35 FW with 07g or lower but takes lot of patience.

Now all you guys needed to do is just downgrade 6.39 OFW or 6.38OFW to 6.20 OFW(for those who have lower than 07g), then upgrade to 6.35 OFW, surely this is the long way.

hi, my sistem is 6.39 im tryng to make the downgrader but im getting an error saying updater MD5 mismatch.

My psp model is 05g. PsP Go

can any1 help me and say what am i doing wrong??

You need to get the PSPGo 6.20 Update, and replace the regular update with the PSPGo version. if you go to my YouTube channel, and click on the Downgrade 6.38 video, links that include the Downgrader and the 6.20/6.35 Update for each PSP version, are in the description, click on the link below:
