This is pretty goddamn ridiculous. I was talking to Davee, and reading through some stuff, and he was searching for 09g Module owners to test a 6.20 Downgrader that will work on 09g PSP 3000's. Well, last night, Davee confirmed it working (a BETA version) with this tweet:

Apparently the downgrader works by tricking the 09g PSP 3000 into thinking it is a 04g module PSP. In turn, the PSP is allowed to installed 04g module, hence, 6.20 OFW. Since the trick is permanent, it will also trick all LCFW installers into thinking the PSP 3000 is 04g, thus allowing the installation of 6.20 PRO Permanent, or any other LCFW for 6.20.

This is one of the most epic developments in months, and I will post more information when it becomes available.

NOW, IT SHOULD BE NOTED, THIS IS VERY EXPERIMENTAL, AND THE EFFECTS ARE STILL UNKNOWN. It has only been about 18 hours since the first SUCCESSFUL downgrade, so THIS MAY INDEED BRICK YOUR PSP.

Also, it should be noted, The long term effects of this are still unknown. It is not clear if once you downgrade to 6.20, you can update back to another firmware. It shouldn't be a problem, but it could result in a brick.

Make sure you place 6.20 Update EBOOT.pbp into PSP/GAME/UPDATE before you run the downgrader.
